During GiveNDay, the individuals listed below contributed to these efforts through their generous donations to support students and faculty efforts to strengthen global awareness and increase understanding of public history. Thank you for your support. MS. ERICA BOBBY joined the NSU faculty as a full- time Instructor of English, Reading, and Communication Studies in 2020. Ms. Bobby previously served as SI Coordinator and tutor in the NSU Student Success Center as well as adjunct faculty in the Department of Languages, Literature, and Communication Studies. She received her BA in English from Black Hills State University and MA in Communication Studies from the University of South Dakota. Prior to coming to Northern, Ms. Bobby was an instructor of Speech at BHSU, an adjunct instructor of communication and English at several academic institutions, and a freelance contributor and writer for the Aberdeen American New s. As a full-time instructor of foundational courses, Ms. Bobby notes, “I am excited to introduce students to more challenging concepts, audiences, alternatives, and activities that develop their skills in critical reading, composition, and communication.” MR. BRAD RICHARDSON, Instructor of Environmental Science, joined Northern State University in 2021. Originally from Aberdeen, he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Environmental Science at Northern State University and a Master of Science degree in Geography from South Dakota State University. He has several years of teaching experience with SDSU. At Northern he will be the instructor of courses in Environmental Biology, Physical Geography, and GIS (Geographic Information System). His research is focused on quantifying potentially undisturbed ground in South Dakota. Away from campus, Mr. Richardson enjoys camping, hiking, hockey, volunteering, and traveling with his family. He is excited to be back at Northern and in Aberdeen.
