Bystander Intervention Questions about bystander actions When the following situations arose at Northern, how often did you do any of the following? Bystander Intervention Participants were asked about their reactions to specific situations they may have encountered at Northern. It is important to note that not all participants responded to every question; therefore, the percentage of respondents for each item is documented on the right for reference. Please note that in the chart, 2025 data are displayed beneath the 2022 data for comparison. Since 2022, there has been a noticeable decrease in students’ reported likelihood of intervening in certain situations. This decline may partially reflect that some students have not encountered these situations at Northern and therefore indicated they would not have intervened. Nonetheless, overall responses suggest students are less likely to intervene in certain circumstances.
