Build a centralized, one-stop shop, to improve student access to services like parking permits, technology support, registration, financial aid, student financial services, and residence life and dining services. 132. Create an outdoor environment between the Campus Green and Student Center for students to gather and enjoy (with coverage, hardscaping, landscaping, seating, power, and enhanced Wi-Fi). 133. Partnering with Finance and Administration, and consistent with the 2019 Space Analysis, make recommendations for better space utilization of the Wolf Shoppe. 134. Partnering with Admissions, create a Campus Visit Center that will better serve the enrollment activities of campus. 135. Refresh and update the waiting area in Student Affairs to support students and staff utilizing Student Affairs services. 136. Increase the size and aesthetics of the Centennial Rooms; replace the room dividers. 137. Study and identify the best programmatic needs for the former Student Health Services space. 138. Working with Finance and Administration, improve the dumpster space next to the Student Center during the construction of the Business and Health Innovation Center. 139. Working with Finance and Administration, create a welcoming and functional secondary waiting area for Counseling Services and Student Accessibility Services. 140. Install single-sided laser people counters to enable the accurate recording of traffic in and out of the Student Center. 141. Replace and upgrade the air conditioning in the Student Center. 142. Install a sound/music system in public areas for daily use and special events. 143. Assess and improve the technology offerings of conference rooms to improve student satisfaction and increase outside reservations. Objective 12. CREATE HIGH QUALITY STUDENT ENVIRONMENTS: The spaces students live, study, and engage say a lot about our culture of care and concern for their success and well-being. 144. Level out the Washington Street Parking Lot entrance at Wolves Memorial Suites consistent with the Master Plan ( 65, December 2023). 145. Add a curbed median to the Washington Street Lot to improve safety and winter parking, consistent with the Master Plan ( 65, December 2023). 146. Working with the City of Aberdeen, spray for mosquitoes right before opening weekend so that students can enjoy outdoor campus activities during Wolf Pack Welcome. 147. Working with the City of Aberdeen, resurface Washington Street and the adjacent sidewalks to improve accessibility and safety. Objective 13. ENCOURAGE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: Engagement in one’s student experience contributes to a sense of belonging and thereby their persistence at college - Northern SEM Plan. 148. Develop a Welcome Folder for all new student organizations that includes essential materials, resources, and guidance designed to support their successful launch, engagement, and long-term retention.
