A great way to make a significant impact to NSU Softball is through the Softball Championship Fund – an exclusive insider club that is the backbone of Northern’s softball team. By donating at least $100 (through the NSU Foundation), you can become a difference-maker, being part of enhancing the student-athlete experience and elevating the team to the top of the NSIC and NCAA Division II. IDENTIFIED NEEDS We have identified a list of needs that will assist in building a championship culture for NSU Softball. To compete as a Regional Ranking and an NSIC Conference Championship team, we need to continue our scholarship funding, improve our program’s operating budget, and enhance the overall student-athlete experience. SCHOLARSHIPS Thanks to generous donor support, the NSU softball team is fully funded in scholarships. However, with the rising cost of tuition and other expenses, this is not a guarantee in the future. DAILY PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT FUND Nutritional enhancement such as meals and post workout needs, strength and conditioning/ technology upgrades, and everything needed to ensure our athletes are equipped to train and perform at the highest level. COST: $60,000 annually TRAVEL In addition to travel during the regular season, a trip south is imperative to have a competitive softball program, and we must completely fund this every year. The cost of travel, food, and the tournament fee are all needed. COST: $15,000 annually
