NORTHERN TODAY 15 FALL 2018 The Wolves broke the single season school record for wins, defeating Minnesota State in the opening round of the NSIC Tournament. Ashley Rozell, Hailey Busch, Laura Snyder and Jenna Reiff were named to the all-conference first team, while Jaiden Langlie was named to the all-conference second team. Northern State head coach Brent Aldridge earned the third NSIC Coach of the Year honors of his career, leading the Wolves to their first NSIC Championship in program history. The Wolves have remained in the top-2 of the NSIC standings throughout the 2018 season, and as a perennial member of the AVCA Top-25 Poll. Northern has remained in the top-10 through the season, reaching the No. 1 ranking twice. They have recorded top-25 victories over No. 22 Augustana and No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul. The Wolves lead the nation in hitting percentage and sit top-15 in assists per set, kills per set, and match win-loss percentage. Rozell lands in the top-10 nationally sitting fifth in assists per set, ninth in total assists, and 10th in service aces. Northern earned the sixth seed in the Central Region to third seeded Washburn, but fell in five sets on Thursday, Nov. 15. NSU tallied wins over Black Hills State, Jamestown, MSU Moorhead, Southwest Minnesota State, Winona State, Upper Iowa, Wayne State, Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota Crookston. Four Wolves earned all-conference honors for NSU, with Stephany Estrada making the first team, Jessica Otto being named to the third team, and Shianne Rosselli and Darian Leschewski to the honorable mention squad. Rosselli and Leschewski led the team with six goals on the year, adding three and two assists respectively. Otto proved her worth in the net for NSU with four shutouts and 111 total saves on the year. She finished the regular season third in the league in save percentage and total saves. 2018 FALL Soccer Volleyball The Wolves soccer team finished the 2018 season with a 9-8-1 record overall and 7-7-1 mark in the league. The Northern State University volleyball team entered the NCAA Central Region Tournament with a 26-4 record overall and a share of the NSIC Conference Championship.
