Dr. Troy Brick is a 1997 graduate of Northern State University and a respected veterinarian with an extensive career in both clinical practice and academic medicine. Currently residing in Boone, Iowa, Dr. Brick serves as a production and regulatory veterinarian at Hy-Line International and holds an affiliate faculty position as an assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Diagnostics and Production Animal Medicine at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following his graduation from NSU, Troy earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2002. His career has included roles as a partner in a mixed animal practice in Iowa, completing a residency in large animal internal medicine and earning a master’s degree at The Ohio State University, and serving as an associate professor at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. He later held faculty positions at both The Ohio State University and Iowa State University, where he contributed to research, diagnostics and clinical training in large animal veterinary medicine. With eight refereed publications and numerous other scholarly works, Dr. Brick has made significant contributions to the field. He encourages current NSU students to recognize the power of their education: “NSU is a wonderful undergraduate school that will provide you with an education that can take you anywhere. You may have to work harder to plan depending on your career path, but it can be done.
