5 I’m Happy By Devin Sheridan I stand tall, ready. Sweating, surrounded by a cold environment. The endless sight of possibility planted in front of me. I breathe in. I breathe out. I go. My speed starts to elevate, yet I stumble and fall. I lie there while chills touch my skin, causing my sweat to chemically react. I look down, noticing my companion lost. Then out of the corner of my eye, I see him lying there uncomfortably. I make my way over, breaking his space, aiding him with tools given to me from my creators. Once revived, we make our way back to the start, ready for round two. I breathe in. I breathe out. I go. Again, I fail. Round three. I go and fail. I go and fail. I go and fail. Attempt after attempt, I gather myself to go and fail again. Failing each time with a smile on my face. I’m happy. Aural Consumption, Observed By Nathan Berg Does she travel in silence, or can she absorb sound through the skin? A supersonic sponge, eating voices, perhaps digesting them right beside the salad she had for lunch.
