17 The Counseling Center Scope of Practice allows no more than eight appointments per semester per student. Additional efforts will be made to refer students to off campus resources as they approach the eight -session limitation. According to IACS (International Accreditation of Counseling Services) standard V.C.1., “Every effort should be made to maintain minimum staffing ratios in the range of one F.T.E. professional staff member (excluding trainees) to every 1,000 to 1,500 students, depending on services offered and other campus mental health agencies”. The Counseling Center has 1,442 students (headcount) per FTE well within the IACS standard and below the average for the BOR at 1,621.
