NSUWOLVES.COM NORTHERN STATE TRACK & FIELD CROSS COUNTRY
A great way to make a significant impact to NSU Track & Field and Cross Country is through the Championship Fund – an exclusive insider club that is the backbone of Northern’s track & field and cross country teams. By donating at least $100 (through the NSU Foundation), you can become a difference-maker, being part of enhancing the student-athlete experience and elevating the team to the top of the NSIC. IDENTIFIED NEEDS We have identified a list of needs that will assist in building a championship culture for NSU Track & Field/CC. To compete as an NSIC Conference Championship team and to consistently take individuals to the national meet, we need to increase our scholarship funding, improve our program’s operating budget, and enhance the overall student-athlete experience. SCHOLARSHIPS The NCAA maximum scholarship level for men’s and women’s track & field/cross country is 12.6 scholarships each and NSU is currently at 3 scholarships for men and 3.6 scholarships for women. We are two full scholarships away for both men and women from really making a difference and competing with those in our conference. This means we are $45,000 per program per year short in scholarship funding. COST: $90,000 annually
DAILY PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT FUND Uniforms, warm-ups, practice gear including footwear, implements, and other equipment are not only essential for our program, but also enhance the student-athlete experience and athletic potential. In addition, nutritional enhancement such as meals and post workout needs, strength and conditioning technology upgrades, and everything needed to ensure our athletes are equipped to train and perform at the highest level. COST: $40,000 annually TRAVEL With a growing team and volatile travel prices, travel budgets are often stretched thin or limit our ability to travel to certain important meets. Growing this fund will allow us to keep up with this changing and extremely competitive environment, while helping us strive to maintain a championship level program and experience for our student-athletes. COST: $40,000 annually

With the combined dedication of our student-athletes, coaching staff, past letter winners, and donors, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be able to recruit highly talented individuals, significantly enhance the student-athlete experience, graduate high character athletes, and become a premier, championship winning program!”
