37 2022 ARC3 SURVEY FINDINGS Prevalence of Dating Violence Participants who responded that they experience dating violence of any of the previous listed behaviors one or more times were asked a series of follow up questions. The majority of participants who indicated that they experienced dating violence were female (95%) and the perpetrator was male (86%). Over half of the dating violence incidents reported were off campus (52%). A majority of participants who experienced dating violence indicated that they did not use alcohol or drugs prior to the incident (89%). Survey participants noted 38% of their perpetrator was using alcohol or drugs prior to the incidents, while 37% indicated they were not using and 24% of the alcohol or drug use was unknown.
