16 allow enough time to get all your work done. Noisy dorms are a pain, so go to the library. It’s quiet there. Make sure you get out and meet people, but don’t give in to peer pressure. Parties are fun, but you don’t get a grade in them. 25. I would recommend getting to know your professors. It is important to get on their good side. Professors take note of students who care about their grade and maybe might help you out if you always go to class and put a great effort in it. 26. Stay healthy, get health insurance, study history, drink coffee, eat healthy, get out of the dorm, and get help when you need it—or when you can. 27. Make sure that you communicate with your roommate on what you want and expect out of them. Whether it be who buys what, how the room is kept, or how disagreements will be worked out. You will be living with them for the next year and want to make sure you can maturely fix these problems ASAP. 28. Make sure you get plenty of sleep at night. Don’t party a lot: never during the week. 29. When you meet your roommate for the first time, discuss daily schedules and bedtimes and wake-up times. 30. This campus is unlike in other in its social aspect. You will meet some of the greatest professors and friends in your time on campus. 31. One thing to watch out for are those crazy underclassmen at Jerde. Nothing I have seen is as barbaric as the condition that Jerde is n on any given day. Trash is scattered all over the halls and stairwells, spit dried on the floor, clothes are taken out of the laundry room without the original ownr’s consent. Alcoholism is very common among freshmen. Stay away from alcohol, and find a pack of studious and responsible friends! 32. Live in Jerde—easy to meet people 33. If a girl comes up to you and wants to sleep with you, and you don’t know here…don’t sleep with her. 34. Don’t pass out with your shoes on. 35. Go to as many SI sessions as you can. They really help you figure out what you need to study. 36. Make your dorm room nice. It’s your home, not just a room. 37. The library is a great place to find books and study in peace and quiet.
