NCHC ( continued ) The six students who presented their research submitted abstracts to NCHC in spring 2017 and had to be selected to present at the conference. NSU submitted six posters to the conference and all six were accepted. The posters ranged in topic and disciplines:  Balie Albrecht, Let Them Play: Classroom Management for the 6-8 Music Room  Whitney Berner, Effects of Classroom Environment on Math Anxiety among Elementary Education Majors  Taylor Ellingson, Racism and Perceptions of Refugees and Immigrants in a Secondary Resettlement Town  Melanie Kruse, Teacher Perception of Student’s Disabilities: Grief or Personal Growth Model.  Kylie Rusch, Preventing Performance Related Musculoskeletal Disorders: A Method Book for Young Pianists  Annika van Oosbree, Phenotypic Effects of Probiotics on Xenopus laevis Development While Atlanta may seem like a long way to travel to present research, the direct and immediate feedback provided by judges, faculty, and other Honors students was invaluable. Perhaps one of the most valuable experiences that the students received from this event was the ability to build a network for use in their professional lives. In addition to the six students presenting their research, NSU Honors Program Director Dr. Erin Fouberg, Honors Graduate Assistant Zachary Feil, and NSU Honors Club President Bailey Alonge represented Northern at the conference.
