Northern Today Fall 2014

NORTHERN TODAY 19 FALL 2014 I N MEMO R I AM ALUMNI NEWS What does a regional alumni chapter look like? Regional alumni chapters help you stay close to your alma mater regardless of distance, and help you create a network of support you can rely on long after graduation. As a member, you can enjoy volunteer recognition in your local community, networking opportunities and the opportunity to stay connected to NSU on a more intimate level. As a member, you will also be able to build relationships with new friends, businesses, schools and personal contacts. These networking opportunities will be mutually beneficial to both you and the university. By participating, you are able to give back to your local community through your involvement and stay connected to the larger community of NSU. Becoming part of a regional alumni association not only helps you stay connected, but also brings increased awareness to the university. Your help will promote growth and sustainability for NSU. By helping to recruit students, fundraise, host events and market NSU, you broaden NSU’s potential to reach out. This helps NSU and adds value to your degree. Having supportive regional alumni chapters shows future students, business leaders and high school teachers that NSU is worth the investment. If it is something you believe in, it is something they can believe in. Chapters are beginning to form throughout South Dakota.
