Dr. Terry K. Olthoff of Sun City, Ariz., earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree in 2016 and is the 2011 recipient of the John A. Price Excellence in Chaplaincy Award given through the International Conference of Police Chaplains. Jerry Brick was elected as Chairman-Elect of the National Propane Gas Association in Washington, D.C., by the organization’s Board of Directors. 1977 Galen Swenson was inducted into the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. 1980 Terry Dosch, Aberdeen, was a 2016 Finalist for National High School Athletic Coaches Association Football Coach of the Year in Louisville, Ky., and also a Finalist for Boys Track in 2012. 1981 Greg Kjellsen stepped down from the head boys’ basketball coach at Groton Area High School after 32 years. 1982 Noreen (Leinius) Sampson of Medical Lake, Wash., retired after 44 years in education and currently works as a leadership success coach for the Office of Student and School Success, OPSI, for the state of Washington. Jerry Soholt retired on Jan. 1, 2017, after nearly 28 years of service to Avera. 1982/1987 Scott Spanton, San Antonio, Texas, retired from public education and coaching after 32 years. 1983, Judy Blaseg was named chief development officer at the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, beginning in August 2016. 1986 Tony Arampatzis decided to team up with his daughter, Audra, on the business he’s run for 30 years to include a spa and salon with his fitness center. Burton Andersh, Watertown, celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary to wife, Barbara (Stave) (1984), on June 21, 2016. 1996/1998 Josh Ellis was promoted to associate professor in the applied sciences department at Chadron State College. 2002 Houston Reed became the new basketball coach at Chadron State College. 2005 Jessica (Mostad) Foss is a newly elected shareholder for Fredrikson and Byron and works in the Fargo office. Lynn (Isackson) Klundt presented at Brick and Click, a national conference for Academic Librarians held in Maryville, Mo., on the library’s Creation Lab. 2010 William Deng is developing plans to expand education in South Sudan with the degree he earned at Northern and the resources he has now gained. 2011 Tom Schinderling’s “Wally Wuzzlemoore Wants a New Family” is performed at Storybook Land Theater. 2013 Amy (Wietgrefe) Marron moved to Stafford, Va., in October 2015. 2015 Alyssa (Becht) Cassels was hired as director of bands at Deuel High School in Clear Lake. 2016 Eli Corbett auditioned in Minneapolis for the 2016 season of ‘The Voice’ on June 26, 2016.
