High school (HS) students in the state who are enrolled in RS program can take college courses at their local high schools. The RS program is guided by the following principles as well as all NACEP standards: • All courses in the program are taught by highly qualified high school teachers. All teachers must meet the same requirements as those of an adjunct faculty in the SD state system. • NSU faculty supports, mentors, supervises, and evaluates the HS teacher in the program. • All courses follow the same or equivalent course syllabi as those used by the corresponding main campus university courses. Syllabi must be approved by the mentoring/supervising NSU faculty mentor and the appropriate NSU department chair.
