High school (HS) students in the state who are enrolled in RS program can take college-level courses at their local high schools. The RS program is guided by the following principles as well as all NACEP standards: • All courses in the program are taught by highly qualified high school teachers. All teachers must meet the requirements for adjunct faculty appointments in the SD state system. • NSU faculty support, mentor, supervise, and evaluate the HS teacher in the program. • All courses follow the same or equivalent course syllabi as those used by the corresponding main campus university courses. Syllabi must be approved by the mentoring/supervising NSU faculty mentor and the appropriate NSU department chair. • All courses have the same or equivalent textbooks, examinations, grading standards, and policies as those used by the corresponding main campus university courses.
